SUMMARY OF COMMON DAILY PROBLEMS WHICH WILL BE SOLVED BY THE ECIS INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEM (ITS):
Safety Issues During Operation
- Irregular driving: over-speeding, rapid acceleration/deceleration, sharp turn and other acts which seriously affect the safety of passengers.
- Unusual event: open the door while driving; the back door clips passengers; start driving the vehicle before passengers get off, which easily cause accidents.
- Emergencies: Extreme behavior such as fire explosion on a bus, which need complete evidence.
- Vehicle breakdown: vehicle breaks down during the operation, which needs to be reported immediately in order to avoid accidents.
Problems During Daily Operation
- Station line: a variety of complex station announcement line such as annular, U-shaped line which need automatic station announcement.
- Device maintenance: device replacement, maintenance which takes too long time and affect the normal operation of the vehicle.
- Video review: non-HD image quality has been far from meeting the requirements of a variety of evidence.
- Convenient scheduling: complex and cumbersome vehicle scheduling is less convenient than one key switch line.
- Scientific scheduling: scientifically analyzing and scientifically modeling to solve problems such as delay and reasonable scheduling for traffic peaks and flats.
Challenges During Operation
Security: When there is theft happening in the vehicle, it is hard to recognize the behavior and face through the recording.
Evidence management: It is difficult to manage video evidence.
Maintenance: Most problems are not found until the device gets wrong. Even the maintenance staff comes, he only solves parts of the problem.
GDS: It is difficult to monitor bad driving behavior, such as curving, gliding, revving, idling etc…
Event search: It is inconvenient and complicated to search over speed recording evidence according to report.
Reliability: It is hard to make recording stable after sudden power- off.
VEHICLE TRACKING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FEATURES:
The bus will automatically announce the bus station when it arrives the stop each time. So passengers will get off at the right stop and will not miss it. ECIS offers a program to mark multiple routes easily in a few seconds. Despite of auto station announcement, ECIS transit bus monitoring system can detect Bus Lane Enforcement, Passenger number accounting and facial detection. Also a mobile app shows the passenger the realtime arrival and departure times of the bus. When the passenger is waiting at a certain bus stop, he or she simply requests the app on mobile phone to see when the next applicable bus is coming.
Also automatic notifications can be programmed by end-user to be send once applicable. Based on the position of the passenger, information can be used for trend analysis, hot spot analysis, efficiency improvement
The Vehicle tracking is also connected to the driver info, routes, timetables, and schedules. If a bus for example is delayed this has a direct effect on the information to be provided to waiting passengers.
Also route deviation will be alarmed, over speeding will be monitored and also other driver behavior info will be monitored . This can be reported directly (even automatically) to the driver as well. Also the system can be configured to use the automated passenger announcement system, This system can provide pre-configured messages, but also live communication from the dispatch center to the driver, and /or the passengers in the bus. This can even be done inside or outside the bus. The system also provides the info to be presented on the route destination signs on the outside of the bus.
When clicking of the overall dispatching interface, clicking on a bus shows the exact location (address), speed, heading and can also open direct video link of each connected camera in the bus. This includes audio as well. Dispatcher can send a message to the driver display as well or can speak to the driver directly.
Automation of paperwork and procedures using the bus service manager:
The monitoring system is connected to the planning system which provides the planned routes, timetables etc. As soon as a driver enters a bus, he or she presents the ID card to the system and is then logged on to the shift. All the paperwork connected to the dispatching procedures are automated. Even the damage reporting system is automated so paper work can be abandoned.
This means that a driver logs off after his shift and which also provides the time and attendance system to the company.
Lots of more automated procedures are involved and can even be customized upon customer needs.
MOBILE DVR MONITORING SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM:
ECIS has a hybrid vehicle CCTV surveillance system, consisting of a mix of analogue and network/IP cameras in place. Currently, onboard cameras becomes more common. Besides, Real-time usage of video surveillance is viewing video live (monitoring) or using live video as a tool during an incident. Additionally video analytics can be added to support the detection of an incident. The vast majority of respondents is using video footage for investigation and evidence collection. HD Image quality is a key criterion for video surveillance in this case to ensure any evidence is valid in court.

11 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)
Problems
Traffic accidents kill more than 1.2million people each year all over the world. And 20 million to 50 million people will remain completely or partly disabled.
Active Safety Demand Analysis
Human error contributes to 93% of all collision.
According to Georgia Tech 80% of all accidents are caused by driver distraction occurred 3 seconds prior to an accident.
French insurance company AXA’s research suggests 1.5 seconds advance warning can prevent 90% of rear end accidents and 2 seconds advance warning can prevent most accidents from happening.
ECIS AI (Artificial Intelligence) system
ECIS AI system is an advanced active collision warning and driver abnormal behavior warning system. With camera and artificial intelligence algorithms, it can detect and identify the following behavior:
- Advanced Driver Assistant System Alert (ADAS)
- Front Collision Warning (FCW)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Headway Monitoring and Warning (HMW)
- Driver Status Monitor Alert (DSM
- Fatigue Driving Warning(FDW)
- Hand Phone Warning(HPW)
- Driver Smoking Warning(DSW)
- Driver Distraction Warning(DDW)
- No Driver Warning(NDW)
ECIS AI system is suitable for various weather conditions, such as daytime, night, rain and snow. It can be applied different vehicles, including public bus, taxi, truck, coach, school bus…
Blind spot detection
- Detecting persons, cyclists and motor cycles
- Display different alarm status / alarm zones
- Monotoring wrong driving behavior
Passenger / overflow monitoring in order toreduce energy (incl. Fuel), maintenance costs, incl. Improvement of safetyandredution of risks
APC (automatic passenger counter) Platform(Station flow management)
Pandemic control
Buses, coaches and schoolbuses are under focus of epidemic prevention due to high passenger flows, passengers travelling from different places and high probability of close contact. In response, ECIS offers a set of contactless temaperature measurement equipment, in order to control the passenger body temperature. This will intensify the monitoring of passengers on the road in order to protect the health and safety of passengers and staff.
The system is an add on on the ITS solution and can simultaneously measure the temperature of multiple “targets”, as well the measurement of a single “target”. Using a different configuration can also detect whether a passenger is wearing a face mask or not.
FARE COLLECTION SYSTEM:
As an add on, end-user can choose to add a complete integrated FareCollection system. This contains of contactless payments and mobile Wallett / Money transactions. When installed as part of the ECIS Intelligent Transport solution (ITS), each transaction is also related to position, time, area etc. etc. In combination with the passenger counter as part of the ITS system, Fraud can be prevented because the number of transactions and number of boarded and disembarked passenger are compared. Also reports are generated based on the busstops (how many passengers board and disembark at what busstop / time) in order to improve the operations efficiency. This could for example result in removing or moving a busstop for better usage.
Passengers can be given the possibilities as required by the Public Transport operator, fitting the local conditions, possibilities and culture. Even cash payments can be accepted (however not recommended) in order to avoid passengers avoiding the Public Transport buses from the introduction of the system. Passengers can work with personalized RFID / NFC cards (which can be topped up online or at a POS (Point Of Sale) location, which can be any shop, office etc. Limited use (paper RFID) cards can also be used, These are cards with a pre-loaded balance. Using a mobile phone, passengers can simply purchase a ticket by using a mobile phone app. Purchase of mobile ticket generates a QR code on the phone display, which can then be shown to the mobile ticket validator in the bus. Also a digital receipt will be available in the mobile phone app.
Blacklist data, transactions and other changes, are uploaded and downloaded realtime to the backoffice environment of the end-user.
Based on other customer needs, requirements and requests, ECIS can adjust the functionalities fitting the local needs.
